Managing Director Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Managing Director to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Ensures the integration of all functions; i.e. sales, marketing, finance, operations, project management, MIS, legal, human resources, etc;
- Develops archival and administrative practices for Canada Wildfire; ensuring that files are securely stored and privacy/confidentiality is maintained;
- Develops funding applications to provincial, national and international organizations for core operational funds;
- In consultation with the Scientific Director, responsible for the production of the Canada Wildfire Annual Work Plan;
- Drafts policies and prepares procedures to implement said policies; review existing policies on an annual basis and recommends changes as appropriate;
- Accountable for fiscal management including budget development and expenditures of Canada Wildfire;
- Develops collaborative relationships with appropriate service providers;
- Builds strong business operations and sets specific, measurable, challenging yet achievable goals and objectives;
- Responsible for the financial management for Canada Wildfire core operating funds;
- Formulates, negotiates and executes contracts with the client and vendors.
Requirements:
- Well-rounded organizational and fiscal leadership skills;
- Demonstrated success as a leader within a performing arts organization, with at least five years’ leadership or governance experience;
- The expertise to ensure ample capacity and resources to enable the company to fulfill its mission;
- The experience of working collaboratively with a board to achieve agreed outcomes;
- A deep understanding of non-profit arts management;
- The ability to work effectively and empathetically with Indigenous and diverse artists and artisans.
