Distribution Centre Manager Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Distribution Centre Manager to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Together with the Local Quality Manager, drive QSHE implementation and compliance;
- Full accountability for the performance of direct reports;
- Support employee engagement/retention initiatives, succession planning, and internal promotions within the DC;
- Plan long range labour requirements based on sales forecasts and input from direct reports;
- Participate in new business implementation project management;
- Lead / participate in customer negotiations;
- Promote a culture of safety to ensure all reasonable precautions are taken for the protection of workers;
- Ensure proactive approach to relationship management;
- Ensure billing / invoicing accuracy;
- Participate in bids, tenders and RFPs;
- Collaborate with Senior Management to ensure efficient, standardized and ‘best in class’ logistics operations;
- Support local implementation of KNPS Bronze, Silver and Gold (company production systems) certifications;
- Set SMART goals and projects to achieve individual, distribution centre, and divisional results;
- Other duties as assigned in support of the development and execution of the company’s strategy;
- Promote integration of CL and road/rail activities where applicable.
Requirements:
- Strong customer orientation and problem solving skills;
- Prepare and interpret operational financial reports;
- Proven proficiency in an automated warehouse environment;
- In-depth understanding of company operations, sales environment, and cost structures;
- Experience in a pharmaceutical distribution centre is considered an asset;
- Experience in a pharmaceutical distribution center is considered an asset.
