Staff Software Engineer, Infrastructure Group Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Staff Software Engineer, Infrastructure Group to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- You’ll assist with the migration, deprecation, and removal of legacy functionality;
- Provide guidance, technical leadership, and mentoring;
- From day one you’ll be gaining familiarity with our legacy Rails app at the center of the ecosystem to upgrade, and repair when necessary;
- As we continue to scale up you’ll identify gaps, implement observability, tackle complicated exceptions, and engage in performance engineering;
- Participating in your team’s on-call rotation, triaging and addressing production issues as they arise;
- Continue to be a hands on developer and own code;
- Since we are responsible for core systems you’ll collaborate with lots of interesting people across various teams and functions.
Requirements:
- You know that many problems can have multiple solutions and are excited to discuss and weigh their pro’s and con’s with respect to their context;
- You have excellent interpersonal skills and no problem working with internal partners, product owners, and geographically dispersed teams;
- Years of development experience working on customer-facing and web-based systems that have scaled through customer, people or product growth.
