Our company is looking for a Senior Mechanical (Plumbing) Designer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Attends meetings to coordinate drawings and resources, determine project criteria and provide information;
  • Identifies deviations from operating and production procedures based on current standards; escalates to management;
  • Leads junior design staff throughout all phases of project;
  • Works effectively in a team by supporting other team members;
  • Prepares technical reports, field reports, or specifications following office standards;
  • Encourages productivity, innovation, teamwork, and a high level of professionalism; leads by example;
  • Strategic Development;
  • Assists in the establishment of office best practice standards based on evolving industry requirements;
  • Acts as an expert resource within the mechanical discipline for delivery requirements; e.g. reports, studies, projects, etc;
  • Raises the firm’s profile by being recognized as a design leader; highly respected among peer firms;
  • Ensures safety requirements are followed;
  • Completes administrative paperwork such as timesheets, time off requests, expenses, etc;
  • Synthesizes, interprets and coordinates technical information to write engineering specifications for Project Manuals;
  • Identifies new business opportunities through contacts; notifies management; helps prepare and present client proposals;
  • Business development.

Requirements:

  • CET certification is required. P.Eng is an asset;
  • Have at least 15 years of experience in design of plumbing/drainage, medical gas, natural gas and compressed air systems;
  • Possess experience in project management and project delivery and in providing direction to other members of the Engineering team;
  • Have successfully completed related post-secondary education;
  • Is proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel and Outlook) and experienced using Engineering software including AutoCAD and Revit;
  • Demonstrate an ability to collaborate with other professional disciplines.
