Finance Manager for Community Development

Join the City of Windsor as a Finance Manager specializing in Intergovernmental Funding. Focus on financial oversight for health services while providing leadership to accounting staff in a full-time role.
In this pivotal position, you will report directly to the Executive Director of Financial Planning. As the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for subsidy claims, financial reporting, and providing insights to City Council. A minimum of ten years of accounting experience with direct supervisory responsibilities is required, along with a strong technological background in financial processes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee accurate completion of subsidy and funding claims
• Conduct thorough financial analyses for City Council initiatives
• Facilitate month-end and year-end financial closures
• Direct financial accounting staff on budgeting matters
• Ensure compliance with financial controls and audits
Requirements:
• Community College diploma in Business Administration or higher
• Minimum ten years of experience in accounting with supervisory duties
• Valid Driver's Licence for off-site locations
• Strong skills in business report writing
• Capability to work significant overtime during peak periods
