Calian is proud to continue a long-standing contractual relationship with the Department of National Defence (DND) to provide healthcare services to the Canadian Armed Forces. Through the Health Care Provider Contract, Calian employs health care professionals across Canada who are integral to supporting the health and wellbeing of our military members.

Position Overview

Calian is currently seeking a part-time clinical psychologist to deliver psychological assessment and treatment services to military personnel at the medical clinic situated at CFB Ottawa. The position is a 0.5 FTE requiring 22.5 hours per week, with a standard schedule of 7.5 hours per day during clinic operational hours, Monday to Friday. The clinical psychologist for this role is expected to be onsite to ensure optimal client care and seamless team integration.

Responsibilities

• Providing psycho-diagnostic assessments with an adult population including differential diagnosis.
• Providing professional services related to the diagnosis, assessment, evaluation, treatment and prevent of psychological, emotional psycho-physiological, and behaviour disorders with an adult population.
• Administering appropriate diagnostic tests for psychometric assessment, interpret the results, and prepare psychological evaluations.
• Reporting results and interpretations of tests, interviews, and evaluations to the multi-disciplinary team.
• Providing treatment of a variety of mental health conditions for Canadian Armed Forces members using evidence-based practice including the use of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and trauma processing therapies along with other modalities of therapy.
• Participating as a member of the multi-disciplinary mental health team in case reviews.
• Leading and participating in the development, instruction, and counselling during sessions for specific mental illness such as anxiety, PTSD, depression, and stress management.
• Assisting in the identification, development, and evolution of mental health programming.
• Creating and maintaining patient records in a timely manner.

Qualifications

To be eligible for this position you must meet all the following:

• Degree in Clinical Psychology from an accredited University by the Canadian Psychological Association or American Psychological Association
• Registered as a Psychologist and authorized for autonomous practice with the appropriate provincial licensing body
• 2 years of full time, post-graduate experience, under a license for autonomous, within the last 5 years completing psycho-diagnostic assessments, including differential diagnosis, and providing using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for adults with PTSD, anxiety, mood disorders, and other various mental health illnesses

Additional Requirements

• You must be able to obtain a Government Security Clearance at the Reliability level.
• Current certification or willingness to obtain CPR Level C with AED
• Fully bilingual in English & French

Il s’agit d’un poste à 0,5 ETC nécessitant 22,5 heures par semaine, selon un horaire standard de 7,5 heures par jour durant les heures d’ouverture de la clinique, du lundi au vendredi. Responsabilités

• Effectuer des évaluations psychodiagnostiques auprès d’une clientèle adulte, incluant le diagnostic différentiel
• Fournir des services professionnels liés au diagnostic, à l’évaluation, au traitement et à la prévention des troubles psychologiques, émotionnels, psychophysiologiques et comportementaux chez les adultes
• Administrer des tests diagnostiques appropriés dans le cadre d’évaluations psychométriques, interpréter les résultats et rédiger des rapports d’évaluation psychologique
• Communiquer les résultats et les interprétations des tests, des entrevues et des évaluations à l’équipe multidisciplinaire
• Offrir des traitements pour diverses problématiques de santé mentale chez les membres des Forces armées canadiennes en utilisant des approches fondées sur des données probantes, incluant la thérapie cognitivo-comportementale (TCC) et les thérapies axées sur le traitement des traumatismes, ainsi que d’autres modalités thérapeutiques
• Participer aux revues de cas en tant que membre de l’équipe multidisciplinaire en santé mentale
• Diriger et contribuer au développement, à l’animation et à l’accompagnement lors de séances portant sur des problématiques spécifiques telles que l’anxiété, le TSPT, la dépression et la gestion du stress
• Contribuer à l’identification, au développement et à l’évolution des programmes en santé mentale
• Créer et maintenir les dossiers des patients de manière rigoureuse et en temps opportun

Qualifications

Pour être admissible à ce poste, vous devez répondre à toutes les exigences suivantes :

• Détenir un diplôme en psychologie clinique d’une université accréditée par la Société canadienne de psychologie (SCP) ou l’American Psychological Association (APA)
• Être membre de l’Ordre des psychologues et autorisé(e) à exercer de façon autonome par l’organisme de réglementation provincial approprié
• Posséder au moins deux (2) années d’expérience à temps plein postdoctorale (au cours des cinq dernières années) sous permis d’exercice autonome, incluant la réalisation d’évaluations psychodiagnostiques avec diagnostic différentiel et l’offre de thérapie cognitivo-comportementale auprès d’adultes présentant un TSPT, des troubles anxieux, de l’humeur ou d’autres problématiques de santé mentale

Exigences supplémentaires

• Être en mesure d’obtenir une cote de sécurité du gouvernement du Canada au niveau « Fiabilité »
• Détenir une certification RCR niveau C avec DEA (ou être disposé(e) à l’obtenir)
