Capital Markets Application Developer (.NET/Databricks)

Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Capital Markets Application Developer (.NET/Databricks). You will be responsible for enhancing and supporting existing capital markets trading applications within a complex Azure-based environment, contributing to both development and solution‑level design in a collaborative team setting.

Pay rate range (CAD): $65.00/hr – $75.00/hr

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain applications using .NET (C# / .NET Core).
• Build and support Azure‑based data pipelines and integration solutions.
• Develop Databricks notebooks utilizing PySpark, SQL, and Python for data transformation and pipeline processing.
• Create and support Azure Data Factory pipelines for data integration workflows.
• Develop Azure Functions, App Services, and API integrations to enable application connectivity.
• Support BAU production systems and implement incremental improvements.
• Perform impact analysis and contribute to solution design discussions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues within the Capital Markets environment.
• Ensure the security, compliance, and reliability of financial data workflows.
• Collaborate with BAs and development team members throughout requirements gathering and implementation.
• Participate actively in Agile delivery cycles, providing hands‑on input and problem‑solving.

Desired Skill‑Set

• Strong hands‑on experience with .NET Core and C# development.
• Extensive experience with Azure ecosystem: Databricks (PySpark, Python, SQL), Data Factory, App Services, and Functions.
• Proven ability to build end‑to‑end data and integration solutions.
• REST API development and service integration expertise.
• Experience supporting BAU improvements and production systems.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in complex data environments.
• Attention to detail with sensitivity to financial data.
• Ability to think critically, adapt quickly, and operate under pressure.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills with technical and business stakeholders.

Nice to Have

• Capital Markets experience, including GL, treasury, or accounting processes.
• Exposure to modernization or migration projects within enterprise environments.
• Financial services industry background.
