About Us:
T.A. Firth & Son Limited is a locally owned and operated family business and has been in operation since 1906. We are a very busy insurance brokerage that serves the entire Yukon. We are currently looking for an experienced Insurance Broker to join our team.
Job Description:
This is an in-office position. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1-2 years experience as an insurance broker, and a good working knowledge of home insurance as well as both commercial and personal auto insurance. You will work closely with clients to assess their needs & offer appropriate coverage options. This is a full-time position; hours of work are Monday - Friday, 8:30-4:30.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide insurance quotes for home, personal auto & commercial auto.
- Secure competitive insurance policies with various carriers.
- Process new business & policy changes.
- Maintain accurate records of client communications, policies, and renewals.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of home & auto insurance products, policies, and underwriting practices.
- Previous experience with Applied Rating Services, Applied Epic, and the use of broker portals preferred.
- Excellent communication & customer service skills.
- Ability to assess client needs and recommend suitable insurance solutions.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle customer issues in a positive manner.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Preference will be given to candidates who have completed their CAIB 1 or Level 1 licensing.
- Must have reliable transportation.
