Au sujet de cet emploiSous la direction de la directrice ou du directeur des programmes de français langue seconde (FLS), vous contribuerez à l'avancement des objectifs à court et à long terme du Ministère en participant à la conception, à l'élaboration, à la mise en œuvre et à l'évaluation de programmes et d'initiatives destinés au système scolaire public. Vous offrirez également des services-conseils relativement aux programmes et aux initiatives aux Centres régionaux pour l'éducation et à leur personnel professionnel, aux universités, aux associations et organismes, ainsi qu'à d'autres ministères et agences.
Vous serez principalement responsable de faire progresser les initiatives en français langue seconde (FLS) de la maternelle à la 12e année, conformément aux priorités établies dans le Plan d'action pour le FLS de la Nouvelle-Écosse. Relevant du Programme des langues officielles en éducation, ce travail comprend la coordination et la collaboration liées au renouvellement des programmes d'études, à l'élaboration de ressources, ainsi qu'à la conception et à l'animation d'activités d'apprentissage professionnel fondées sur la recherche à l'intention du personnel enseignant. Vous collaborerez également avec d'autres directions du MEDPE afin d'améliorer les programmes ainsi que les possibilités d'apprentissage virtuel.
Vous contribuerez à l'élaboration de stratégies d'évaluation favorisant la réussite des élèves et créerez des ressources fondées sur la recherche pour appuyer la planification, l'enseignement et l'évaluation. Vous participerez à la mise en œuvre de programmes de mentorat et de réseaux professionnels visant à renforcer la collaboration entre les personnes enseignantes de FLS et à soutenir les objectifs des programmes. Une attention particulière sera accordée à l'accès équitable à des ressources inclusives et à des expériences culturelles reflétant la diversité de la Nouvelle-Écosse, ainsi qu'à l'élaboration de ressources en français pour les classes de prématernelle afin de favoriser une exposition précoce à la langue française.
À votre sujetPour réussir dans ce rôle, vous possédez une maîtrise en éducation ou dans un domaine connexe, ainsi qu'au moins huit (8) années d'expérience en enseignement dans un contexte de français langue seconde.
Vous possédez également les qualifications suivantes :
- Excellente connaissance des programmes actuels de français langue seconde et des structures du système éducatif, ainsi qu'une solide compréhension du contexte néo-écossais.
- Capacité à appliquer les résultats de la recherche actuelle à la conception, au contenu et à la mise en œuvre de projets.
- Capacité démontrée à planifier, gérer et réaliser des projets dans les délais prévus, tout en coordonnant de multiples tâches et priorités.
- Habiletés reconnues en collaboration et capacité à établir et à maintenir des partenariats efficaces.
- Excellente maîtrise du français à l'oral et à l'écrit, ainsi que de solides compétences en anglais.
- Maîtrise des technologies et/ou des programmes Microsoft Office dans un environnement informatisé à des fins de communication et d'enseignement.
- Excellentes compétences en communication (orale, écrite et interpersonnelle).
- Solides aptitudes au travail d'équipe et engagement envers un milieu de travail diversifié et inclusif.

About UsThe mission of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development's French Language Programs and Services Branch is to provide quality educational programs and services that promote Nova Scotia's Acadian and francophone reality and its cultural diversity as well as promote proficiency in both of Canada's official languages.
About Our OpportunityUnder the direction of the Director of French Second Language Programs, you will assist in the advancement of short and long-term goals of the Department by contributing to and supporting the design, development, implementation and evaluation of programs and initiatives for the public school system. In addition, you will provide consultative services on programs and initiatives to Regional Centres for Education and their professional staffs, universities, associations and organizations, other departments and agencies.
You will be primarily responsible for advancing French Second Language (FSL) education initiatives across Grades P–12 as outlined in the Nova Scotia FSL Action Plan initiatives. Falling within the Official Languages in Education Protocol, this includes coordinating and collaborating on the renewal of curriculum, resource development, design and delivery of research-based professional learning for educators, and partnering with EECD branches to enhance programming and virtual learning opportunities. You will contribute to assessment strategies that promote student achievement and create research-informed resources to support planning, instruction, and evaluation. Facilitating the implementation of mentorship programs and professional networks will be part of your work to strengthen collaboration among FSL educators and to support program goals. A key focus will be ensuring equitable access to inclusive resources and cultural experiences that reflect Nova Scotia's diversity, as well as providing French language resources for pre-primary classrooms to foster early language exposure.
About YouTo be successful in this role, you will possess a master's degree in education or a related field, plus 8 years' teaching experience in a French Second Language context.
You will also possess the following:
- Comprehensive knowledge of current French Second Language programs and education system structures, with a strong understanding of the Nova Scotia context.
- Skill in applying current research to inform the design, content and implementation of projects.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, manage, and deliver projects within timelines, including coordinating multiple tasks and priorities.
- Proven collaboration skills with the ability to build and maintain effective partnerships.
- Excellent command of both spoken and written French with strong competencies in English.
- Proficient in use of technology and/or Microsoft office programs for communication and instruction in a computerized environment.
- Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written, interpersonal skills).
- Excellent qualities of a team player while valuing a diverse and inclusive workplace.
