POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Reporting to the Head Chef, the Kitchen Assistant supports the chef and cooks in their duties. They participate in the preparation of cold dishes and desserts, cut and peel fruits and vegetables, plate dishes, prepare meal carts, and assist the rest of the team in maintaining equipment and the kitchen. Part-time position, 30 hours per week, one weekend out of two.

ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assemble plates of food
• Clean kitchen equipment
• Ensure and optimize quality standards in the use of food
• Peel and cut vegetables for meals

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Good team player
• A proffesional studies dimploma (DEP) in institutional cuisine or equivelent
