Trans Mountain Corporation operates Canada’s only pipeline system transporting oil products to the West Coast. We deliver approximately 890,000 barrels of petroleum products each day through a dual pipeline system of more than 1,150 kilometres of pipeline in Alberta, British Columbia and Washington state.

Trans Mountain is seeking a collaborative, motivated, and values‑driven individual to join our dynamic team as a Manager, Maintenance and Reliability. This position is accountable for the safe, reliable, and efficient execution of maintenance work at the Burnaby and Westridge terminals.

The successful candidate will drive disciplined maintenance and reliability processes to improve field-level efficiency and tool time, reduce corrective maintenance through earlier defect identification, and build preventative maintenance plans that sustain and further optimize asset availability.

This role will work closely with the Manager, Terminal Operations, to create a high performing team and will report directly to the Director, Burnaby and Westridge Terminal Operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provides technical direction, oversight and leadership within the Burnaby and Westridge operations team regarding maintenance work and maintenance process optimization.
• Terminal complexity has increased with the pipeline and Westridge expansion. This role will be accountable to assess and implement reliability tools for equipment failure root cause analysis while creating long-term improvement plans to operate the Burnaby and Westridge Terminals at high productivity levels safely, efficiently, reliably and with minimum service disruptions due to unplanned down-time.
• Responsible for effective implementation of maintenance work at the Burnaby and Westridge Terminals through development, implementation, tracking and adherence to maintenance specific KPI's. Responsible to propose and progress maintenance learning and improvement plans as required for the development of a high reliability organization.
• Responsible for the budgeting and forecasting of maintenance and capital budgets associated with the maintenance programs.
• Provides management leadership, coaching, and support to maintenance mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation supervision and their teams, including building a high reliability culture.
• Ensures reliability related incidents are investigated to determine the root cause failures with actions that create sustainable reliability improvement results.
• Provides guidance and support on subject matter expertise to maintenance work within the broader operations team, as required.
• Assists in maintaining all ISLMS documentation including Goals, Objectives and Targets, the Internal Communication Plan, External Communication Plan, Document and Records Management, Human Resources Plan, and the Dashboard.

Qualifications And Professional Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Reliability Engineering, OR a related trade certification (Electrical, Instrumentation, or Mechanical) supplemented by maintenance planning and reliability improvement experience. P.Eng. designation and/or management certification is considered an asset.
• Minimum 10 years of maintenance planning, reliability, and asset management experience within the oil and gas industry; experience supporting terminals, pipelines, marine facilities, or vapour recovery systems is preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership experience within maintenance, operations, or asset management functions in the oil and gas, terminal, or pipeline industry.
• Strong knowledge of maintenance management principles, systems, and processes, including High Reliability Organization (HRO) principles, reliability engineering, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Proven ability to analyze maintenance performance metrics and drive improvements through effective planning, reliability programs, and KPI management.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to balance day-to-day operational requirements while maintaining a strategic focus on long-term maintenance improvements.
• Experience facilitating and participating in Process Hazard Analyses (PHA) and Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) programs is considered an asset.

Working Conditions

• Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license.
