Bar Manager

Greyhound Tavern, Brentwood — a proper pub during the day, a lounge after dark.

The room was built, not rolled out. Nothing on the menu is filler. The pints are poured correctly. Our staff know the product well enough to recommend it, our DJs know music well enough to play what they like, and the right game is always on.

We’re looking for a  Bar Manager to join the Freehouse Collective team at Greyhound Tavern. This is an important role within our operations and an opportunity for someone who is passionate about  products, service, people and the hospitality industry to grow their career.

The successful candidate will be both a hands-on leader and a champion of the bar program. This is a  developmental role with the opportunity to progress into a General Manager position .

You’ll report directly to the  General Manager at the venue and the Freehouse Collective Beverage Director .

What You’ll DoBar Operations

• Manage weekly FOH ordering for  liquor, wine and beer
• Ensure all orders are received, checked and properly accounted for
• Maintain accurate inventory and appropriate par levels
• Track invoices and product costs
• Conduct weekly inventory and period-end counts and enter results into BevSpot
• Track inventory effectively to reduce product loss and waste
• Complete the Bar Manager Variance Report
• Ensure daily cleaning duties and checklists are completed to standard

Leadership & Development

• Train, coach and develop bartenders through hands-on leadership and leading by example
• Ensure all bar staff consistently deliver world-class customer service
• Assist the General Manager with building the weekly bar schedule
• Attend weekly management and operations meetings as required
• Create a positive, accountable and team-focused bar culture

Beverage & Sales

• Champion the cocktail list and ensure proper pouring and accurate recipe execution
• Maintain high standards for product knowledge, presentation and technical service
• Create product-driven initiatives designed to build sales
• Help the team understand the products well enough to confidently make recommendations to guests
• Protect the quality and consistency of every drink that leaves the bar

• Wants to grow within the hospitality industry and take the next step toward venue management
