This role represents the evolution of a traditional Database Administrator into a cloud-focused data and analytics specialist. The emphasis shifts from database maintenance backups patching and infrastructure administration toward data analysis query performance optimization cloud database configuration observability troubleshooting and platform enablement.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Strong SQL and data analysis capabilities across relational database platforms.
- Experience optimizing queries indexes and workloads for cloud-hosted databases.
- Knowledge of Azure SQL Azure PostgreSQL Oracle or similar managed database services.
- Experience with database monitoring performance tuning capacity planning and operational triage.
- Ability to analyze application data usage patterns and recommend improvements for scalability performance and cost optimization.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code automation and cloud-native operational practices.
- Experience supporting application modernization and cloud migration initiatives.
- Knowledge of analytics reporting visualization or data science techniques is considered an asset.
