Production Manager

We are seeking a full-time Production Manager to lead our Glue-laminated timber manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of production, including safety, quality, productivity, and team performance, while ensuring alignment with operational targets and customer commitments.

The Production Manager plays a key role in optimizing production flow, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality mass timber products. This role requires strong leadership, operational expertise, and the ability to manage performance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Role Summary:

• Provide overall leadership and direction for GL line operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production outcomes.
• Oversee and coordinate daily activities of supervisors and production staff to ensure alignment with production schedules and operational targets.
• Manage end-to-end production flow, including planning, execution, and shipment of finished GL elements, ensuring timely delivery and effective load coordination.
• Develop and implement production plans that optimize workflow, resource allocation, and team performance.
• Champion a strong safety culture by enforcing policies and ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production, quality, efficiency, and downtime; analyze trends and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Collaborate with Maintenance to proactively address equipment performance, minimize downtime, and support preventative maintenance programs.
• Lead workforce planning initiatives, including scheduling, cross-training, and skills development to enhance team capability and operational flexibility.
• Partner with Human Resources on employee relations, performance management, and talent development initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement efforts focused on cost reduction, process optimization, and operational excellence.
• Ensure accurate reporting of production metrics, material usage, and labour data; provide regular updates to senior leadership.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management to support departmental and organizational goals.

Qualifications & Experience:

• A combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
• Post-secondary education in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Experience in wood products manufacturing or engineered timber is considered a strong asset.
• Proven experience leading production teams and managing operational workflows.
• Strong understanding of production planning, scheduling, and process optimization.
• Demonstrated involvement in employee relations, workforce development, and performance management.
• Proven track record of implementing process improvements, efficiency initiatives, and safety programs.
