Compensation Details

• Business Intelligence & Analytics 16: Salaries typically range from $74,297 to $99,063 annually, based on qualifications and experiences plus a performance-based incentive.

Location

• Export Development Canada operates in a hybrid work environment, with a current requirement of two in-office days per week, increasing to three days per week in September 2026 (subject to change) .
• This role will be performed from EDC’s headquarters in Ottawa.
• Relocation assistance is available for candidates who meet the eligibility criteria.

Team Overview

EDC is seeking a financial professional to be an important contributor to the Segment & Product Analytics team. The Segment & Product Analytics group supports the segment, product and commercial groups at EDC in the areas of Reporting and Analytics, Strategic Planning and Portfolio Management.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting in-depth reporting and analysis on business results that help to drive informed decision-making. The candidate will have the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and translate business data into digestible information that provides insights and improves corporate processes. A self-motivated individual, they will have a natural curiosity to understand why things are happening in a certain way, and how to leverage different technologies to improve them. The successful candidate should possess deep analytical and technical skills, a result-focused approach, while striving for quality improvement to impact business results and customer experience. The successful candidate is also a team player and will work collaboratively with other EDC business units to help achieve EDC’s overall business objectives and have level appropriate knowledge of EDC suite of products (Financing, Insurance, Bonding, Loans and Guarantees).

What you will be doing

• Partner with business stakeholders, data teams, and technology partners to gather requirements, define success metrics, validate business logic, and ensure analytics outputs are accurate, trusted, and aligned with business priorities.
• Use SQL and Python to extract, transform, model, analyze, and visualize data from multiple enterprise sources.
• Translate business questions into scalable analytics solutions, including curated datasets, semantic models, dashboards, and self-serve reporting products that support strategic and operational decision-making.
• Develop and maintain executive-ready dashboards, scorecards, and reporting that monitor portfolio performance, operational drivers, and business outcomes.
• Conduct diagnostic, predictive, and exploratory analyses to identify opportunities, risks, and emerging trends, and provide actionable recommendations to business leaders.
• Leverage automation, advanced analytics, and AI-enabled tools where appropriate to improve reporting efficiency, reduce manual effort, and enhance the speed and quality of insight generation.
• Communicate complex analytical findings clearly through visual storytelling, concise recommendations, and audience-appropriate narratives for technical teams, business partners, and senior leaders.
• Contribute to data quality, governance, and documentation practices by identifying data integrity issues, documenting business definitions and metric logic, and recommending practical improvements to improve trust in reporting.
• Leverage AI and advanced analytics tools to improve data quality, perform anomaly detection and enhance efficiency of workflows.
• Support the exploration and implementation of AI-driven solutions to generate insights and improve decision-making processes.
• Develop and maintain a strong understanding of EDC products, portfolios, and business priorities to provide relevant and meaningful analytical insights.

What we are looking for

• Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Economics, Business Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in business intelligence and data analytics with large, complex datasets, or related experience.
• Experience using SQL or Python for data transformation.
• Experience with data transformation tools such as Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, SSIS, or DataStage.
• Experience using business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Cognos Analytics, or Tableau.
• Experience with data virtualization software such as Denodo.

• Strong Excel skills, including ability to use pivot tables, VBA, data management and validation tools.
• Solid understanding of finance and statistical principles and concepts.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.

What will make you stand out

• Strong SQL and analytical skills who can work between business and data teams. The ideal person can understand business definitions, translate them into data logic, validate metrics, investigate data issues, and support ongoing Fabric & Power BI dashboard maintenance and enhancements.
• Experience in AI-driven workflows (Copilot, AI Agents, VS Code)
• Experience in building complex reports and complex semantic models for analytical reporting.
• Strong analytics skills, familiarity with financial modeling and analysis.
• Bilingualism in both official languages (English and French)
• Professional designation/candidacy (CPA, CFA, FRM, or MBA)
