Job Summary

The IC System Architect is an integral part of the integrated circuit design team. Working in close collaboration with analog, digital, and firmware design engineers, they assist in the initial feasibility analysis and fabrication process selection. They follow the design through to defining a circuit level architecture and verifying the evolving implementation continues to meet the application requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assess system level requirements to meet target applications
• Map system level requirements onto integrated circuit functional blocks
• Work directly as part of the IC design team to find optimal power, performance, and cost tradeoffs
• Conduct preliminary circuit‑level feasibility for critical elements
• Perform detailed modelling of ICs and external components to project target performance
• Develop algorithms for on‑chip calibration and signal conditioning

Minimum Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field such as electrical engineering
• 10 years direct industry experience in IC development for high‑speed communications systems
• Experience with high‑speed analog and mixed‑signal circuit design
• Strong understanding of linear and non‑linear channel simulation techniques
• Deep understanding of signal equalization techniques and clock‑and‑data recovery for wideband, multi‑gigabit systems
