Job Description



The role of the Sales Representative is essential in identifying, qualifying, and converting new business opportunities into active Chit Chats clients. This role is focused on building relationships with prospective clients, understanding their shipping needs, presenting relevant Chit Chats solutions, and guiding them through the decision-making process.

The Sales Representative’s responsibilities include: sourcing and following up with leads, conducting discovery calls, qualifying opportunities based on client fit, preparing proposals or pricing comparisons, and working with internal teams to ensure the client can be supported successfully.

Reporting to the Sales Manager – Business Development, the Sales Representative will contribute directly to revenue growth by turning qualified opportunities into active shipping clients and supporting the handoff to onboarding and account management once the client is ready to begin shipping.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through outbound outreach, inbound leads, referrals, marketplace research, and reactivation campaigns.
  • Conduct discovery calls to understand client shipping volume, current carriers, pain points, platforms, service needs, and growth potential.
  • Qualify prospects based on commercial fit, shipping profile, compliance requirements, operational feasibility, and expected revenue.
  • Present Chit Chats services clearly and professionally, tailoring the conversation to each client’s needs.
  • Prepare basic pricing comparisons, savings summaries, proposals, and follow-up materials.
  • Work with Sales Manager, Data, Product, and Operations to support more complex pricing or service-fit questions.
  • Maintain accurate lead, opportunity, and client information in CRM.
  • Track all outreach activity, follow-ups, next steps, and deal stages.
  • Coordinate with Onboarding and Account Management to ensure a smooth transition after close.
  • Follow up with prospects consistently and professionally to move opportunities through the pipeline.
  • Identify client needs that may inform future products, service improvements, marketing campaigns, or partnership opportunities.
  • Contribute to sales campaigns, vertical-specific outreach, and market research initiatives.
  • Meet or exceed assigned activity, pipeline, conversion, activation, and revenue targets.

Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable with cold outreach, discovery calls, follow-ups, and client presentations.
  • Strong customer-first mindset with the ability to understand client pain points and recommend practical solutions.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple prospects at different stages.
  • Ability to learn Chit Chats’ services, pricing structure, shipping workflows, compliance considerations, and operational requirements.
  • Experience using CRM software, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and basic reporting tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to coordinate with internal teams.
  • Self-motivated, resilient, and comfortable working toward sales goals.
  • Ability to balance revenue growth with client fit, profitability, and operational feasibility.

Le rôle du représentant ou de la représentante des ventes est essentiel pour identifier, qualifier et convertir de nouvelles occasions d’affaires en clients actifs de Chit Chats. Ce poste est axé sur l’établissement de relations avec des clients potentiels, la compréhension de leurs besoins en matière d’expédition, la présentation des solutions pertinentes de Chit Chats et l’accompagnement des clients tout au long du processus décisionnel.

Les responsabilités du représentant ou de la représentante des ventes comprennent notamment la prospection et le suivi de clients potentiels, la tenue d’appels de découverte, la qualification des occasions d’affaires en fonction du profil du client, la préparation de propositions ou de comparaisons tarifaires, ainsi que la collaboration avec les équipes internes afin d’assurer la réussite de l’intégration du client.

Relevant du gestionnaire des ventes – Développement des affaires, le représentant ou la représentante des ventes contribuera directement à la croissance des revenus en transformant les occasions qualifiées en clients actifs et en assurant la transition vers les équipes d’intégration et de gestion de comptes lorsque le client est prêt à commencer ses expéditions.

Responsabilités

  • Identifier et développer de nouvelles occasions d’affaires grâce à la prospection, aux demandes entrantes, aux recommandations, à la recherche de marché et aux campagnes de réactivation.
  •  Effectuer des appels de découverte afin de comprendre le volume d’expédition des clients, leurs transporteurs actuels, leurs enjeux, leurs plateformes, leurs besoins de service et leur potentiel de croissance.
  • Qualifier les clients potentiels en fonction de leur adéquation commerciale, de leur profil d’expédition, des exigences de conformité, de la faisabilité opérationnelle et du revenu potentiel.
  • Présenter les services de Chit Chats de manière claire et professionnelle, en adaptant les échanges aux besoins de chaque client.
  • Préparer des comparaisons tarifaires de base, des résumés des économies potentielles, des propositions et des documents de suivi.
  • Collaborer avec le gestionnaire des ventes, ainsi qu’avec les équipes des données, des produits et des opérations pour répondre aux questions plus complexes liées aux tarifs ou à l’adéquation des services.
  • Maintenir à jour les renseignements relatifs aux prospects, aux occasions d’affaires et aux clients dans le système CRM.
  • Assurer le suivi de toutes les activités de prospection, des relances, des prochaines étapes et de l’évolution des occasions d’affaires.
  • Coordonner les efforts avec les équipes d’intégration et de gestion de comptes afin d’assurer une transition harmonieuse après la conclusion d’une vente.
  • Effectuer des suivis réguliers et professionnels auprès des clients potentiels afin de faire progresser les occasions d’affaires dans le pipeline de ventes.
  • Identifier les besoins des clients pouvant contribuer au développement de nouveaux produits, à l’amélioration des services, aux campagnes marketing ou aux possibilités de partenariats.
  • Participer aux campagnes de vente, aux initiatives de prospection ciblées par secteur d’activité et aux projets de recherche de marché.
  • Atteindre ou dépasser les objectifs fixés en matière d’activités, de pipeline, de conversion, d’activation et de revenus.

Exigences

  • Excellentes compétences en communication écrite et verbale.
  • Aisance avec la prospection à froid, les appels de découverte, les suivis et les présentations aux clients.
  • Approche centrée sur le client et capacité à comprendre les enjeux des clients afin de recommander des solutions pratiques.
  • Bon sens de l’organisation et capacité à gérer plusieurs clients potentiels à différentes étapes du cycle de vente.
  • Capacité à apprendre et à maîtriser les services de Chit Chats, sa structure tarifaire, ses processus d’expédition, ses exigences de conformité et ses réalités opérationnelles.
  • Expérience avec les logiciels CRM, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office et les outils de production de rapports de base.
  • Excellentes aptitudes pour la résolution de problèmes et la collaboration avec les équipes internes.
  • Autonomie, persévérance et aisance à travailler dans un environnement axé sur l’atteinte d’objectifs de vente.
  • Capacité à concilier la croissance des revenus avec l’adéquation des clients, la rentabilité et la faisabilité opérationnelle.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience.
  • 1–3+ years of experience in sales, business development, customer success, account management, or sales support.
  • Experience in e-commerce, shipping, logistics, marketplaces, or small business services is an asset.

  • Études postsecondaires ou expérience équivalente.
  • De 1 à 3 ans ou plus d’expérience en vente, développement des affaires, réussite client, gestion de comptes ou soutien aux ventes.
  • Une expérience dans les secteurs du commerce électronique, de l’expédition, de la logistique, des places de marché ou des services aux petites entreprises constitue un atout.

Additional Information



Total Rewards and Compensation:

  • Salary: Starting $58,000 per annum and Eligibility to participate in Sales Incentive Plan (Commission - tiered)
  • Employer paid Group Benefits (Health, Dental and Vision; 80% coverage). After 3 months.
  • Annual Year-End Bonus .
  • Two weeks paid vacation (negotiable)
  • Birthday leave (Paid)
  • A rich GRSP plan  eligibility after 3 months of employment
