We're growing and looking for an experienced Payroll and Human Resources Generalist to join our team!

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a client-focused environment, and is passionate about supporting organizations through both payroll and human resources initiatives. Working alongside a collaborative team of experienced professionals, you'll apply your expertise across a diverse client base, and gain exposure to a broad range of workplace challenges, projects, and initiatives.

Work Hours

We welcome applications from both full-time and part-time candidates. Our full‑time roles are based on 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday. We’re also open to part-time candidates who prefer a flexible schedule and can periodically increase their hours to support operational needs and team priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

The focus of the Payroll and Human Resources Generalist role will be to:

Payroll Responsibilities:

• Manage full-cycle payroll activities for a diverse client portfolio, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on schedule.


• Review, validate, and maintain payroll information, including employee onboarding details, compensation changes, taxable benefits, and deductions.


• Provide responsive payroll support and guidance to clients and employees, assisting with questions and resolving issues as they arise.


• Contribute to annual payroll reporting requirements, including tax slips, reconciliations, and statutory filings.


• Coordinate payroll remittances and reporting obligations with government agencies and regulatory bodies.


• Investigate and correct payroll variances, helping maintain data integrity and compliance.


• Monitor legislative and regulatory changes affecting payroll practices and support the implementation of updates as needed.

HR Responsibilities:

• Partner with clients to develop, revise, and maintain workplace policies, procedures, employee handbooks, and HR documentation aligned with legislative requirements and organizational objectives.


• Advise clients on workplace matters, including employee relations matters, performance, conduct concerns, conflict resolution, and corrective action processes.


• Support employee lifecycle activities, including leaves of absence, accommodations, terminations, and other employment-related matters.


• Act as a trusted HR resource, providing practical guidance and recommendations on a broad range of people and culture topics.


• Coach and support junior HR team members, sharing knowledge and contributing to their professional development.


• Deliver and facilitate training sessions, workshops, and educational resources for clients and employees.
  


• Assist with talent acquisition initiatives, including recruitment planning, candidate screening, and hiring support.
  


• Provide support with employee benefits administration, enrollments, changes, and employee inquiries.
  


• Participate in organizational projects such as compensation reviews, workforce planning, policy development, job evaluation, HR audits, and system implementations.
  


• Review and interpret employment legislation, emerging HR trends, and best practices to ensure ongoing compliance and informed client support.
  


• Contribute to process improvement initiatives, helping enhance service delivery, operational effectiveness, and risk management.
  


• Maintain accurate HR records, documentation, and reporting as required.
  


• Support a variety of additional HR and payroll-related projects and administrative activities based on client and business needs.

Other HR and Payroll tasks, as required.

The Minimum Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Human Resources 


• PCP designation required; candidates actively working toward the designation will also be considered


• 1+ years of full-cycle payroll experience 


• 3+ years of Human Resources Generalist experience 


• CPHR designation, or interest in pursuing the designation, is considered an asset


• Experience with Microsoft Office 365 is considered an asset 


• Access to reliable transportation to travel from site to site, as necessary
