Our Team
School District 72 is looking for a temporary 0.5 FTE District Educational Technology Coordinator to join our team of professionals, who strive to bring the district's learning beliefs to life. This position will report directly to the Director of Instruction.
School District 72 (Campbell River) is located on the east coast of central Vancouver Island, extending north to Sayward and south to Oyster River. The district also includes the outer islands of Read, Cortes, and Quadra. The district serves over 5,600 students in 18 schools with a diverse range of programs that are progressive and responsive to the educational needs and interests of students.

About the Role
- Support educators in the effective integration of educational technology to enhance teaching, learning, assessment, and reporting practices.
- Design and facilitate professional learning that builds educator capacity in the use of digital tools, platforms, and emerging technologies, including Brightspace, MyEducation BC, Microsoft 365, and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
- Promote innovative, inclusive, and evidence-informed practices that support student engagement, accessibility, digital literacy, computational thinking, and digital citizenship.
- Collaborate with school and district staff to lead, support, and evaluate educational technology initiatives aligned with district priorities.
- Serve as a liaison between educators and the District Information Technology Department to ensure instructional needs inform technology planning and implementation.
- Develop, curate, and maintain resources, tools, and supports, including the District's online learning hub, to assist educators in integrating technology effectively into their professional practice.
- Monitor emerging trends and research in educational technology and provide leadership that supports continuous improvement and innovation across the district.

- Professional development in First Peoples' Principles of Learning.
- Extensive work in mentoring and delivering professional development to other educators (administrators, teachers and educational support staff).
- Proven ability to work well as an integral part of a team which could include administrators, district leadership team, classroom teachers, support teachers, and educational support staff.
- A deep understanding of current trends in instructional practices including inquiry-based learning, formative assessment, social emotional learning, and universal design for learning.
- A deep understanding of how SEL is contextualized by the Core, Curricular, and Content Competencies and is central to British Columbia's K-12 curriculum and assessment system, directly supporting students' growth as educated citizens.
- A deep understanding of curriculum, instruction and assessment.
- Exemplary leadership, interpersonal, organizational and consultation skills.
- A desire to be innovative in approach.
- Strong technology skills to utilize a variety of delivery modes to educators, parents and students.
- Exceptional communication skills both written and oral.
- A valid driver's license with access to a vehicle every day.

The starting full-time salary for this teaching position ranges from $60,015 and $109,520. Placement on a salary scale is subject to verification of experience and certification and will be done in accordance with the current collective agreement.
