If so, our Chalk River location is looking for a Director, Compliance Oversight to lead and advance our compliance assessment and due diligence programs.

What will you be doing

• Coordinating, planning, and tracking all assessment activities (self‑assessments, internal audits, external audits) to ensure appropriate coverage and frequency across the organization.
• Developing and implementing a multi‑year self‑assessment planning tool to ensure regulatory requirements are consistently evaluated.
• Creating and managing the annual Integrated Assessment Plan, including monitoring execution and reporting on progress and outcomes.
• Establishing and leading the Independent Evaluation Board by benchmarking best practices, developing the program framework, and staffing the team.
• Supporting the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Due Diligence Program.
• Managing ongoing operation and reporting of the Due Diligence Program to ensure effectiveness and alignment with organizational objectives.
• Assessing program performance and recommending enhancements to strengthen due diligence processes and overall compliance effectiveness.
• Other duties as assigned by your manager.

What we are looking for

• Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, management, engineering, project management, or a related field.
• Experience
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in leading and implementing assessment and quality programs.
  • Experience within the Canadian regulatory framework, particularly the nuclear regulatory environment.
• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to work with broad direction and minimal supervision, with contributions to executive‑level strategic decision‑making.
  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills when working with executive and management teams to support strategic and operational objectives.
  • Demonstrated capability in supporting cultural transformation related to safety, continuous learning, performance analysis, and improvement.
  • Proven leadership and organizational ability with professionals and support staff.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to remain professional and composed in conflict or challenging situations.
  • Sound judgment and initiative when addressing complex issues.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong orientation toward internal and external client service, support, and success.
  • Knowledge of compliance assessment, audit programs, continuous improvement practices, and Canadian regulatory frameworks.
• Security Clearance Eligibility Required
  • Level 2 Secret requires a minimum of 7 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat’s “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”

Working Conditions

• Working schedule: Five (5) days per week, seven and a half (7.5) hours per day for a thirty‑seven and a half (37.5) hour work week.
