The Opportunity:

We’re looking for a Payroll & Reconciliations Specialist to join our HR Center of Excellence team for 4 months.

Reporting to the Manager, Payroll & Benefits, the Payroll & Reconciliations Specialist is responsible for all functions and updates of the year end reconciliations, audits, year-end internal and external reporting. The T2200 issuance and process. Also, assist on performing multi- company and jurisdictional year end administrative functions including, preparing payroll, data entry, records management, employee services, and administering employee benefit programs. This role will assist in the accurate and timely administration of payroll and benefits, HRIS data entry, and maintaining employee records.

What your day looks like:

  • Responsible for Year-end reconciliations and internal & external reporting
  • Responsible for monitoring any changes in payroll legislation for all provinces across Canada, including Quebec especially for Year-end updates
  • Responsible for GL account reconciliations and internal reporting
  • Responsible for T2200 issuance and process
  • Provide backup to the manager, able to perform all duties required of a typical payroll cycle and participate in research, special projects, and ad hoc reports
  • Full understanding and may assist the process full cycle of multi-province, biweekly payrolls for salary and hourly employees in an accurate and timely manner (ADP WFN)
  • Assists prepare terminations, manual checks and ROE’s as needed
  • Administer multiple employee benefit programs (adding new records, changes, and terminations)
  • Process payments to third parties – garnishments, RRSP and pension plans
  • Ensuring that monthly regulatory filings are completed on a timely basis (WCB, EHT)
  • Respond to inquiries from internal departments regarding payroll and benefit matters in a prompt, courteous and efficient manner

Your experience and skills:

  • Completion of CPA Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) Certification
  • Experienced Payroll Year-end accounting knowledge
  • Advanced Working knowledge of all required legislation including ESA
  • Advanced level working knowledge of Word and Excel
  • ADP WFN experience is preferred
  • 5-7 years administrative experience in payroll or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Extremely detail oriented, accurate, motivated and deadline driven
  • Ability to work calmly and effectively in a fast-paced environment and exercise substantial discretion with highly sensitive and confidential information
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Fluent communication skills in English are required and bilingual skills in French are an asset

Salary

This position is posted with an expected salary range of $70,000 - $80,000 CAD annually. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate and the requirements of the position.
