Key Responsibilities:

• Provide Psychological Services: Offer expert psychological services, including assessment, diagnosis, and therapy for individuals, couples, or families, consistent with your scope of practice as a Registered Psychologist. Services can be delivered via secure telepsychology platforms or in your private Calgary office.
• Clinical Assessment & Treatment Formulation: Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments, formulate clinical diagnoses where appropriate, and collaboratively develop evidence-based treatment plans tailored to each client's unique needs and therapeutic goals.
• Clinical Record Keeping: Maintain meticulous, timely, and confidential client records in full compliance with the standards set by the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP) and Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
• Ethical & Professional Standards: Adhere strictly to the Canadian Code of Ethics for Psychologists, all regulations of the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP), and relevant provincial/federal laws governing the practice of psychology and telepsychology in Alberta.
• Practice Management: Professionally manage all aspects of your client interactions, including scheduling, transparent communication about your therapeutic approach, confidentiality, practice policies, and fee structures.
• Direct Fee Administration: You establish your own professional rates for psychological services and manage billing and payments directly with your clients.

Requirements:

• Education: A Master's or Doctoral degree in Psychology from a recognized university, meeting the educational standards for registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists.
• Professional Registration: Crucially, you must be a Registered Psychologist in good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP). Your registration must authorize you for autonomous practice.
• Practice Experience: Demonstrated post-registration experience providing psychological assessment and therapy services.
• Telepsychology Competency: Proficiency in using secure video conferencing technology for clinical purposes and familiarity with digital record-keeping. A strong understanding of telepsychology best practices and ethical considerations as outlined by CAP.
• Legal & Ethical Knowledge: A thorough working knowledge of PIPA, the Health Information Act (HIA) as it applies to your practice, and the Canadian Code of Ethics for Psychologists.
• Professional Liability Insurance: Must maintain adequate and current professional liability insurance that covers your full scope of practice, including telepsychology services.
