Key Responsibilities:

• Psychotherapy & Counselling Services: Provide high-quality, evidence-based psychological services to individuals, couples, or families, consistent with your scope of practice as defined by the Ordre des psychologues du Québec (OPQ).
• Clinical Assessment & Treatment Planning: Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments, formulate diagnoses where appropriate, and collaboratively develop tailored treatment plans that address client goals and needs.
• Clinical Documentation: Maintain meticulous, confidential, and timely client records in strict compliance with OPQ standards and all relevant Québec and Canadian privacy legislation (including PIPEDA and Law 25).
• Ethical & Legal Practice: Adhere rigorously to the Code of Ethics of the Ordre des psychologues du Québec (OPQ), as well as all provincial and federal laws governing the practice of psychology and the delivery of health services.
• Practice Management: Independently manage all aspects of your client relationships, including scheduling, professional communication, and outlining your practice policies, confidentiality limits, and fee structure.
• Direct Fee Management: Establish your own professional fees for your services and manage billing and payments directly with your clients.

Requirements:

• Education: A Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Psychology from a recognized university.
• Registration: Crucially, you must be a registered member in good standing with the Ordre des psychologues du Québec (OPQ). This is a non-negotiable requirement.
• Right to Practice Independently: Your OPQ registration must permit you to practice autonomously without the need for clinical supervision.
• Experience: Proven post-registration experience in providing psychotherapy and psychological assessment.
