The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Toronto’s Temerty Faculty of Medicine, in tandem with the Mature Women’s Health Division at Sinai Health System, are seeking applicants for the inaugural G. Raymond Chang Professorship in Mature Women’s Health . The successful candidate will be resourced to hold an academic position description of Clinician Scientist and must be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment at the rank of assistant or associate professor at the University of Toronto. The initial term of the Professorship position will be 5 years with the opportunity for one additional 5-year renewal, following a successful review. The G. Raymond Chang Professor in Mature Women’s Health will develop and lead research in mature women’s health (focusing on perimenopause and/or menopause), as well as provide mentorship, clinical training and foster trainee research. The role will involve active leadership, nationally and internationally, to advance research strategies addressing health concerns of mature women in this rapidly growing population. The Professorship holder will integrate, build and strengthen the existing team’s efforts, and champion collaborative and integrative research to build bridges between the Department of Family and Community Medicine, University of Toronto, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, University of Toronto, and the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Mount Sinai Hospital and other TAHSN partners. The Professorship holder will also collaborate with Temerty Faculty of Medicine to modernize and expand curriculum at the undergraduate level, enhance postgradate curriculum for OBGYN and Family and Community Medicine residents, and contribute to curriculum development, clinical training and research mentorship for fellows in Mature Women’s Health.  At the community level, the Professorship holder will work to create a City-Wide Mature Women’s Health Consortium and explore the establishment of a publicly accessible evidence-informed virtual care platform for Mature Women’s Health.

Applicants from a wide variety of backgrounds, with an international reputation in their field, are encouraged. We welcome Obstetric and Gynaecologic applicants working in any research domain directly relevant to mature women’s health, from basic molecular mechanisms to population health, from quality improvement to educational excellence. The successful candidate must hold an MD or equivalent, and have specialty training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with significant expertise in mature women’s health research. They must hold or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons in Ontario and for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or have comparable qualifications. The candidate’s excellence in scholarly achievement should be evidenced by international collaborations and peer-reviewed publications in leading journals. A track record of collaborative science, productivity, excellence and leadership is essential. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate comfort and/or interest in leveraging artificial intelligence and virtual health options to empower healthcare practitioners to provide more robust care.

The remuneration from the Professorship endowment fund will be $120,000 per annum to support two days, of protected time per week, for research, city-wide leadership and other scholarly activities. In addition to salary support, additional support will be provided by Sinaihealth in terms of secretarial, nursing and statistical support.

The incumbent will be based at Mount Sinai Hospital and is expected to become a member of the Sinaihealth academic practice plan and will be entitled to additional support commensurate with academic and clinical activities.
