The NACC Personal Support Worker (PSW) program at Toronto Academy prepares students with the essential knowledge and hands-on experience to work in healthcare settings, assisting with the physical, emotional, and daily living needs of individuals in various care environments. Our program emphasizes compassionate care and prepares graduates to be effective, skilled PSWs ready to make an impact in long-term care, home care, and healthcare settings.

As a PSW Clinic Supervisor/ Student Placement Co-Ordinator , the primary responsibility is to guide and mentor students throughout their Clinical Placement, both in the classroom and at work. This role provides valuable hands-on experience, helping students hone essential Personal Support Worker skills. The Supervisor will contribute to a positive and inclusive atmosphere that reflects Toronto Academy of Education core values of respect, integrity, and excellence, ensuring each student receives the support needed for professional growth.

Job Summary Toronto Academy of Education is seeking qualified, dedicated, and experienced PSW Clinical Supervisor & Students Placement Coordinator for our Personal Support Worker program. you will oversee and mentor students during their Clinical Placement, ensuring they gain the necessary skills to thrive as Personal Support Workers. Your role will include regularly visiting clinical facilities to provide hands-on supervision, feedback, and assessment while ensuring that students are progressing according to program standards.

Job Types : Part-time, Casual, Contract

PSW program delivery - Hybrid

Academic & Experience Requirements:

• PSW with a NACC certification post 2015 and Minimum three (3) years of relevant, hands-on experience in a healthcare environment, ideally in long-term care, chronic care, or community care settings.
• Registered Nurse RPN/RN in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario. Minimum two (2) years relevant clinical experience in a Canadian healthcare setting.
• Experience in NACC -PSW 2022- LTC/Community placement curriculum preferred
• Demonstrated ability in supervision, leadership, and motivating students.
• Strong communication skills and organizational abilities are crucial to fulfilling the role.
• Must meet the instructor qualification standards under the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Regularly visit clinical settings to provide supervision, assess, and mentor students.
• Evaluate student progress fairly and promptly, providing feedback that supports student growth.
• Represent Toronto Academy of Education at the clinical facility, ensuring a positive and professional presence.
• Demonstrate an understanding of student needs, particularly within a multicultural environment.
• Address student concerns and complaints in a professional, solution-focused manner.
• Maintain accurate attendance and student records.
• Ensure the confidentiality of all student information and adhere to privacy policies.
• Work collaboratively with other staff members to solve problems and create a productive learning atmosphere.
• Demonstrate thorough knowledge of the PSW field and stay current with industry standards.
• Provide constructive feedback on student performance and development.
• Handle student inquiries and concerns with professionalism and sensitivity in a multicultural environment.
• Comply with all regulatory standards as set out by the Ministry of Colleges and Universities (MCU), and the Ontario Career College Act, 2005
