Mass Spectrometry Patent Expert in Ontario

Become a key player in PerkinElmer's Intellectual Property team as a Patent Agent specializing in mass spectrometry and chromatography in Woodbridge, Ontario. Your role will focus on safeguarding innovations while collaborating closely with scientists and R&D teams.
This position is ideal for a registered Patent Agent or Attorney with 2-7 years of experience in IP law. Responsibilities include managing patent portfolios, drafting applications, conducting product clearance reviews, and providing strategic counsel on patent-related matters. Your work will facilitate growth and innovation in analytical solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage and prosecute patents for analytical instrumentation
• Collaborate with engineering teams on patent strategies
• Conduct clearance reviews and freedom-to-operate analyses
• Develop training programs for technical staff
• Support IP due diligence for transactions
Requirements:
• Registered as a Patent Agent/Attorney in Canada and USPTO
• Bachelor's degree in relevant scientific disciplines
• Deep familiarity with chromatography and mass spectrometry
• Proven skills in patent prosecution and portfolio management
• Strong analytical and communication abilities
