Senior Electrical Engineer for Mining Projects

Lead the electrical design for mining and industrial projects with WSP in Ontario. Leverage your 18+ years of experience to mentor teams and ensure reliable electrical systems. WSP’s Resources subsector seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer in Ontario, preferably Northern Ontario or the Greater Toronto Area. You will be a senior subject matter expert responsible for designing electrical systems in mining and heavy industrial environments. Your role includes conducting power system studies and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards while mentoring junior engineers. Key Responsibilities:
- Design electrical power distribution and control systems
- Conduct load flow and arc-flash analysis using ETAP
- Prepare specifications for switchgear and transformers
- Verify design accuracy through site evaluations
- Lead collaborative design activities across disciplines
- 18+ years in electrical engineering for heavy industry
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario
- Expertise with CSA, ANSI, IEEE standards
- Proficiency in power system modeling tools
- Valid driver’s license for site visits
