The Accounts Payable & Purchasing Clerk is a key contributor to the City of Moose Jaw's financial operations, ensuring invoices, purchasing activities, and costing records are processed accurately and efficiently. Reporting to the Accountant - Payable and Costing, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working in an environment that values Professionalism, Respect, Pride, One Team, and Integrity.
Key Responsibilities:-Review purchase orders
-Match supplier invoices to issued purchase
-Review and invoice employee reimbursements ensuring policies and Operations Guidelines are followed
-Produce cheques and related reports and distribute
-Perform electronic fund transfer for Accounts Payable as required
-Receive and respond to accounts payable and disbursement inquiries
-Input journal entries and other data pertaining to the general ledger
-Assist in generation and completion of equipment reserve asset sheets Qualifications:
-Diploma of Business Accountancy
-1 year experience in computerized accounting environment
-Proficiency in data entry and word processing (8000 kph)
-Knowledge of computer software packages (spreadsheets, word processing and accounting)
-Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
-Ability to organize and conclude work assignments in an efficient and orderly fashion with minimum supervision
