Indigenous Health EDI Specialist at CHEO

Drive Indigenous engagement and health equity at CHEO as an EDI Indigenous Health & Wellness Specialist. This role focuses on fostering relationships with Indigenous communities across Ontario. The Specialist will lead initiatives for integrating Indigenous perspectives into the BORNConnect program, a digital initiative aimed at improving perinatal health records. You'll collaborate with Indigenous clinicians, community partners, and Knowledge Keepers to ensure that their priorities and needs shape the ongoing development of the digital Ontario Perinatal Record. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead engagement activities with Indigenous communities
• Facilitate Indigenous data governance compliance
• Collaborate with partners to gather community insights
• Develop resources to support information sharing
• Assess EDI training needs within the organization

Requirements:

• Experience in Indigenous community engagement
• Knowledge of Indigenous data governance principles
• Background in health or social care contexts
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Familiarity with perinatal health issues
