Reporting to the Manager or Director, Corporate Compliance, the Co-op Student supports the Bank's Regulatory Compliance Management (RCM) Program through research, administration, monitoring activities, and compliance-related projects. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in regulatory compliance within a federally regulated financial institution while learning about risk management, governance, and regulatory oversight.

What you’ll do:

• The Co-op Student will work closely with members of the Compliance team and collaborate with business partners across the Bank to support a strong culture of compliance.
• Assist in maintaining compliance documentation, including policies, procedures, regulatory inventories, risk assessments, and monitoring records.
• Assist with compliance monitoring and testing activities, including gathering information, reviewing documentation, and organizing results.
• Support issue tracking and remediation activities by maintaining logs and following up on action items.
• Support the tracking and assessment of regulatory developments and assist in documenting potential impacts to the Bank.
• Assist in preparing compliance reports, metrics, dashboards, and presentations for management and governance committees.
• Support governance activities through meeting coordination, note‑taking, document management, and tracking commitments and deliverables.
• Help maintain organized records to support internal audits, regulatory examinations, and compliance reviews.
• Participate in compliance projects and continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of the Bank's compliance program.
• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to support day‑to‑day compliance operations and special projects.
• Conduct research on regulatory requirements, industry trends, and emerging compliance risks.

What you bring:

• Currently enrolled in a post‑secondary program in Business, Finance, Commerce, Economics, Law, Risk Management, Public Policy, or a related discipline.
• Strong interest in regulatory compliance, risk management, governance, or financial services.
• Excellent analytical, research, and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, and willingness to learn.
• Previous experience in financial services, compliance, risk management, audit, or a related field is considered an asset but is not required.
• Familiarity with Canadian banking regulations, governance frameworks, or compliance concepts is an asset.

• Our typical hiring range is between $23.00 and $30.00 CAD Hourly.
