Role Overview Avionics Technicians work independently or as part of a crew, performing duties as assigned by their Lead. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain expertise on Top Aces aircraft avionics systems, including troubleshooting, installation and repair/overhaul of avionics components Know and adhere to company policies and procedures Ensure your Top Aces personal training and qualification record is current and accurate, and that all assigned tasks fall within qualified competencies Ensure work accomplished on any aircraft or component complies with applicable manufacturer's recommended standards, the Canadian Aviation Regulations and company policies and procedures Ensure inspection, troubleshooting, repair, overhaul or replacement of parts is done in accordance with Top Aces policies and procedures Ensure all replacement parts are inspected, eligible and properly certified prior to installation Ensure all removed parts are properly tagged and routed to quarantine as required Sign for accomplishment of your own work on applicable work forms and records, and review forms and records to ensure entries are made in accordance with company policies and procedures Carry out Independent Checks when authorised as per company policies and procedures Inform the supervisor of irregularities in the status of required maintenance tasks Perform receiving inspection authority functions as required Assist BRS technicians in troubleshooting electronic components of the engine (ignition system, engine control unit, harness and similar) and research possible causes of failures in the test cell Repair and test aircraft batteries Support Top Aces safety programmes and the Quality Management System Perform basic Integrated Supply Chain entries in RAMCO when required Attend training courses to ensure continued qualifications Assist in the on-the-job training and instruction of personnel as required Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor Requirements Training in electronics or an avionics programme recognised by Transport Canada, an accredited course, or equivalent military experience Experience in an electronics laboratory would be an asset Adaptability, organisational skills and attention to detail, with demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting skills A team player who is also able to work independently with little supervision Ability to work on complex projects requiring a high degree of judgement, initiative and technical, specialised knowledge Languages: ability to communicate in French; functional English in order to read, understand and interpret manuals, policies and procedures. Requirements
- Develop and maintain expertise on Top Aces aircraft avionics systems, including troubleshooting, installation and repair/overhaul of avionics components
- Know and adhere to company policies and procedures
- Ensure your Top Aces personal training and qualification record is current and accurate, and that all assigned tasks fall within qualified competencies
- Ensure work accomplished on any aircraft or component complies with applicable manufacturer's recommended standards, the Canadian Aviation Regulations and company policies and procedures
- Ensure inspection, troubleshooting, repair, overhaul or replacement of parts is done in accordance with Top Aces policies and procedures
- Ensure all replacement parts are inspected, eligible and properly certified prior to installation
- Ensure all removed parts are properly tagged and routed to quarantine as required
- Sign for accomplishment of your own work on applicable work forms and records, and review forms and records to ensure entries are made in accordance with company policies and procedures

- Training in electronics or an avionics programme recognised by Transport Canada, an accredited course, or equivalent military experience
- Experience in an electronics laboratory would be an asset
