Resin Technician (Material Handler)

Job Responsibility:

POSITION TITLE: Resin Technician (Material Handler)

SHIFT: Monday to Friday

POSITION SUMMARY

The Resin Technician position is responsible for the organization, preparation & handling of resins, cardboard, dunnage and other production related materials. It is critical that the Resin Technician strictly adheres to the material data sheets to ensure the materials are prepared accurately & on-time to support production as per the production schedule. The Resin Technician will be expected to communicate/coordinate with multiple departments in advance of, throughout and the completion of production runs to ensure materials are handled and prepared properly. The main objective of the Resin Technician is to ensure the safe handling and use of materials to ensure consistency in production & inventory control, as well as to help solve any issues that arise and help deal with the situations immediately.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITES

90% - Processing & Production

• Independently review production schedule and coordinate with the production team to ensure materials are prepared in advance of production runs and tryouts.
• Regularly clean and perform minor routine maintenance on dryers, color mixers, feeders and other equipment as required.
• Routinely verify and adjust material levels while production runs are ongoing to ensure the machines are supplied with the appropriate amounts of resin.
• Communicate with the Maintenance Department of equipment issues to ensure they are addressed.
• Ensure the molding machine injection unit, surrounding floors, dryers & warehouse areas are well kept and organized
• Work along side Process Technicians and Set Up Technicians to ensure the successful & continual start up of molds as needed
• Detailed completion & tracking of start-up documentation and other standard operating procedures.
• Apply continuous improvement methods such as lean manufacturing to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, or cost-effectiveness.
• Assist with special projects, initiatives and other duties as assigned

5% - Miscellaneous Tasks

• Participate in shift hand off meetings to ensure successful transfer of knowledge.
• Effectively apply organizational and time management skills to prioritize workload, to problem solve, and to adapt to frequent interruptions and change.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Attend safety, technical and other training courses as required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• 2 or more years of experience of Resin Technician or Material Handling at a plastic injection molding facility.
• Ability to drive a forklift and reach truck.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

• Basic to medium experience in running plastic injection molding machines.
• Experience in the automotive or medical industry.

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
