Major Responsibilities:
- Carries out maintenance activities on transportation infrastructure, including roadways, sidewalks, guide rail, drainage, etc.
- Assists in erecting and maintaining traffic signs, pavement markings, and other traffic control devices
- Assists in painting markings on roads
- May be required to operate various spray painting equipment Performs other related work as assigned
Key Qualifications:
Your application must describe your qualifications as they relate to:
- Experience with municipal traffic control operations.
- Experience in the operation and use of all vehicles, equipment, specialized attachments and materials related to the duties of this position, included but not limited to working on a ladder.
- Must possess and be able to maintain a valid Province of Ontario Class "G" Driver's License and must qualify for the City's equipment operating permits and requirements.
You must also have:
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions and must be physically capable of performing required duties.
- Ability to deal courteously with the public.
- Must be able to work shifts, weekends, overtime, and work at various locations. Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the regulations that apply to this work.
