Job Description
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring alignment with project specifications and requirements.
- Analyze project drawings, blueprints, and other documentation to determine project scope and requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather input and validate cost estimates.
- Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and recommend value engineering solutions.
- Maintain up-to-date records of project estimates, changes, and revisions.
- Prepare and present reports on project budgets, risks, and financial performance.
- Stay informed about industry trends, material costs, and labour rates to ensure accurate estimates.
- Support the tendering process by providing cost data and participating in bid evaluations.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Estimator should have:
- A strong background in construction and a solid understanding of the industry.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to deliver accurate cost estimates.
- Familiarity with estimating software and tools.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse teams.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
