Aqualab Manager for Research Facility

Join the University of Guelph as the Aqualab Manager, overseeing aquatic research operations in Guelph, Ontario. This pivotal role demands strong leadership and expertise in animal care. As an Aqualab Manager, you will manage the strategic direction and operations of the Hagen Aqualab, ensuring compliance and sustainability. You will develop long-term plans, oversee animal husbandry, and provide essential support for research and teaching. Your leadership will help align facility operations with regulatory standards while supervising a dedicated team. Key Responsibilities:
• Operate and maintain facility systems and environmental controls
• Develop strategic and capital plans for sustainable usage
• Manage animal welfare protocols and facility compliance
• Support research and teaching through technical guidance
• Supervise facility staff and oversee budgeting processes Requirements:
• Master’s degree in Biology or related field
• 2-3 years’ experience in aquatic facilities
• Knowledge of animal husbandry and regulatory standards
• Strong problem-solving and leadership skills
• Proven ability to manage facility operations Drive innovation and compliance in aquatic research at the University of Guelph’s Hagen Aqualab.
