Responsibilities

Oversee and maintain LAN, WAN, data center routing/switching (Cisco ACI), and next-generation firewalls (Palo Alto), including IPS and DDoS mitigation tools.

Coordinate with third-party vendors to troubleshoot complex hardware/software incidents and apply recommended security patches and vulnerability mitigations.

Ensure all infrastructure designs comply with organizational engineering patterns and service level agreements (SLAs).

Draft, review, and execute technical change requests in alignment with formal change management policies.

Continuously monitor network health, optimize system performance, and drive root-cause analysis for escalated issues.

Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including network topologies, contact matrices, and asset inventories.

Work with management to define, deploy, and enforce unified network standards.

Participate in a shared 24/7/365 on-call rotation to safeguard critical systems, with occasional overtime for urgent incidents.

Qualifications
Education & Credentials: Post-secondary degree or diploma in Network Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. Professional certifications such as CCNA or CCNP are strongly preferred.

Technical Expertise: 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience managing enterprise IP networks, LAN/WAN environments, and data center connectivity.

Protocol Proficiency: Deep understanding of TCP/IP networking, packet routing, and dynamic protocols (BGP, EIGRP, MPLS).

Tooling & Platforms: Familiarity with Cisco technologies, Cisco ISE, NetScaler load balancers, network automation, and Palo Alto firewall suites.

Soft Skills: Exceptional troubleshooting ability, strong organizational habits, customer-first mindset, and effective communication under high-pressure scenarios.

Language Proficiency: Bilingualism (French and English) is required for operational collaboration.

Our client operates in Canada. The company takes all reasonable steps to limit the number of positions in Quebec that require knowledge of a language other than French, and only requires it when necessary and its existing bilingual employees are unable to perform these duties.
