Overhead Transmission Line Design Lead

Apply overhead transmission line design expertise with Hatch, supporting projects from route selection through construction across North America.This Transmission Line Lead role combines senior engineering judgment, team mentoring, and client-facing business development. You will oversee design quality, guide structures and materials decisions, interpret transmission standards, and support proposals for utility and industrial clients. The role may be based in Winnipeg, Mississauga, Vancouver, or Calgary.Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical oversight throughout the transmission project lifecycleReview overhead structures, conductors, OPGW, insulators, and fittingsPerform quality checks and improve design practicesMentor staff through training and performance developmentRepresent Hatch with clients and industry associationsRequirements:
Minimum 10 years designing overhead power transmission linesExperience with route selection and multiple structure typesWorking knowledge of IEEE, ASCE, CSA, NESC, IEC, and CIGREFamiliarity with Canadian and U.S. utility standardsDegree in Structural, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical EngineeringUse overhead line design knowledge and technical leadership to strengthen Hatch’s transmission services across Canada and the United States.
