Manager of Project Services

Job Responsibility:

PBN Construction is a northern Saskatchewan Aboriginal owned and operated company founded in 2007 that services mine sites and crown corporations all over Saskatchewan. We are experiencing exiting growth and currently expanding our team. We are a fast paced and fulfilling company that is seeking a detail orientated and experienced Manager of Project Services work at our Saskatoon Corporate Office. The position requires the candidate to work Monday to Friday 8:00 am - 5 :00 pm, however there will be times that travel to work sites will be required and hours would be adjusted.

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Manager of Project Services is responsible to develop, maintain and implement effective project services systems. Specifically, but not limited to the people, processes and tools needed for the successful planning, management, execution of PBN projects as well as providing successful bidding and estimating of projects.

Project Estimating:

o Develop and maintain project bids, proposals, RFPs, tenders, and estimates, in collaboration with the project team. Estimates should incorporate the appropriate level of detailed information based upon the breakdown into work execution packages.

o Assist in developing and maintaining rates for company resources, including labour, equipment, etc.

o Gather and analyze historical project data for future bidding purposes. Continually improve the fundamental estimating parameters through feedback from actual projects and through industry benchmarks.

o Assist in the development of risk matrices for project estimates.

o Communicate with sub-trades for tendering and analyze subcontractor bids to ensure comprehensive scope of work inclusion.

o Attend required site bid meetings.

o Assist in transitioning project estimate to the project execution team.

Project cost analysis:

o Aid in tracking and controlling project expenses while mitigating risks.

o Monitor cost performance to isolate and understand variances and trends from approved cost baseline.

o Monitor work performance against funds expended.

o Project schedule management:

o Create and maintain project work plans and schedules using MS Project or client methodologies.

o Inform, coordinate, direct and control project activities.

o Measure schedule performance.

o Work towards advancing the maturity of the scheduling activities applying industry best practices. Basic techniques identify tasks and schedule logic while more advanced techniques involve schedule analysis, critical path management, review technique (PERT) systems, resource leveling and risk-based management.

Change Management

o Ensure project changes are identified, adequately defined, appropriately evaluated, authorized, and tracked throughout project execution.

o Ensure that changes are of benefit to the project outcome.

Project reporting

o Identify and report all project variances, approved changes, and associated cost to appropriate stakeholders.

o Ensure timely and accurate project status reporting to clients and internal management.

Document Management and Control:

o As part of the management team, assist in the development and implementation of the PDF (the collaboration of people, processes, and tools to optimize project results, increase business value and maximize efficiency throughout the project execution) utilizing the established tools which include but are not limited to B2W, MSOffice, and SharePoint.

o Responsible for establishing the internal process documentation infrastructure, organize and maintain all process documents. Functions as the gatekeeper of all process documentation and monitors and controls compliance. Ensures document traceability from revision to revision and is ultimately responsible for revision control.

o Ensure all documentation, process, and project, adhere to the established document nomenclature and numbering standard.

o Collect data for specific KPI's and produce reports that capture measured deliverables.

o Ensure the management and control of project documentation including revision control, and standard file structures within SharePoint.
