Project Manager (Civil/Environmental)

TSG STAFFING SERVICES is currently recruiting for a PROJECT MANAGER (CIVIL/ENVIRONMENTAL) for a contract opportunity in the greater Saskatoon area.

Job Responsibilities:

Oversee all project management activities from project scope development through to start-up, collaborating with in-house and external contractors to achieve the desired results

Ensuring successful completion of projects according to clearly defined and agreed-upon objectives

Preparing budgets, schedules and resource allocation plans for multi-discipline resources, incorporating best practices in cost control, risk analysis and schedule stewardship

Managing and controlling projects to ensure that objectives are met in an economical and timely manner, and that applicable standards, procedures and quality control requirements are either developed or met as required

Applying knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to project activities to meet or exceed stakeholder needs and expectations

Making independent decisions on work methods and procedures within project scope

Liaison between operations, maintenance, technical groups and outside contractors

Providing technical knowledge and expertise for the development of sound project execution strategies

Managing project interactions with Operations and Maintenance, clearing obstacles that may interfere with the progress of the project, e.g.: authorizations, permits, procedures, precautions, schedule

Accountable for the successful implementation of plant strategies and corporate strategies

Providing daily work direction that optimizes the use of available resources (people, time, job assignments, and equipment)

Accountable for the team’s adherence to policies and environmental regulations as well as demonstrating safe behaviour at all times

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in civil, structural, or environmental Engineering

8+ years of experience working as a Civil/Environmental Project Manager, preferably in a potash mine environment, is a strong asset

PMP designation required

P.Eng is considered an asset

General Mine Safety Awareness (GMSA) Certification required

Civil earthworks or environmental engineering background is required

Experience with tailings/mining waste is required

A strong maintenance background and internal customer focus

Experience with Planisware is an asset

Good understanding of computer programs and applications (MS Office 365 applications, SAP)

Knowledge of site safety, OH&S, and environmental regulations

Good understanding of project planning and scheduling techniques

Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work and produce results under pressure

Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential
