Pharmacy Assistant-24 Month Contract

Cencora seeks a Pharmacy Assistant for a 24-month contract role in Winnipeg supporting specialty pharmacy operations. The position involves prescription processing, benefit verification, claims management, patient assistance, and inventory coordination using established pharmacy software and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists and pharmacy technicians with prescription filling and patient support
• Enter, scan, and process prescriptions using Kroll software; maintain accurate pharmacy records and data
• Perform benefit verification, claims follow-up, prior authorization support, and fulfillment workflows
• Manage inventory ordering, receipt, and maintenance of medications; prepare and process billing and claims
• Pack and ship prescription orders; screen calls and respond to patient and internal inquiries

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience
• 2+ years pharmacy support, healthcare operations, or related operational experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask accurately
• Excellent communication and customer service skills, both oral and written
• Pharmacy technician certification or equivalent preferred
• Kroll pharmacy software proficiency preferred; French/English bilingualism an asset
