KPMG’s Transaction Services team helps buyers, sellers, private equity investors and corporate clients make better-informed decisions through the M&A lifecycle.

Our Vancouver team works on transactions across a diverse range of industries, from private equity and founder-owned businesses to some of Canada’s best-known public and private companies. We combine rigorous financial analysis with commercial judgment to identify the issues that matter to our clients, helping them understand the risks and opportunities of a deal, and execute their M&A strategies with confidence.

We are looking for a Senior Manager to join our growing Transaction Services team in Vancouver.

As a Senior Manager in Transaction Services, you will lead complex engagements and multidisciplinary teams, work closely with Partners and senior client executives, and apply both strong technical expertise and commercial judgment across a wide variety of transactions.

This is an opportunity for an ambitious and experienced M&A professional who enjoys understanding businesses, solving complex problems, leading teams, and building trusted relationships with senior decision-makers. You will take significant ownership of financial due diligence engagements and client relationships, while continuing to develop your executive presence, leadership capabilities and market profile.

As a Senior Manager in Transaction Services, you will:

• Lead complex buy-side and sell-side financial due diligence engagements, taking responsibility for overall engagement strategy, execution, quality and delivery
• Manage multiple workstreams and multidisciplinary teams, bringing together the right financial, tax, operational, technology and other expertise to address the issues that matter most to the transaction
• Work closely with KPMG Partners and senior client executives, including management teams, private equity professionals, corporate development teams and other transaction stakeholders
• Analyze and interpret the historical and forecast financial performance of businesses, including quality of earnings, revenue and margin trends, working capital, net debt, cash flow and other key value drivers
• Apply strong commercial judgment to identify the financial and business issues that matter most to a transaction and clearly articulate their impact to senior decision-makers
• Lead management meetings and client discussions, and present clear, concise findings and recommendations to executive-level audiences
• Develop trusted client relationships by combining strong technical expertise with confidence, judgment, communication skills and an ability to understand the broader commercial context
• Oversee the day-to-day management and economics of engagements, including project planning, resourcing, budgets, risk management and client communication
• Lead, coach and mentor Managers and junior team members, creating opportunities for others to develop their technical skills, judgment, confidence and client leadership capabilities
• Work closely with Partners on proposals, client development and market initiatives, while building your own network, market presence and commercial capabilities
• Contribute to the strategic development and continued growth of our Transaction Services practice
• Help lead the continued evolution of how we deliver financial due diligence, including how we use data, analytics, AI-enabled tools and new methodologies to improve insight, quality and efficiency

You are likely to have:

• A professional accounting designation such as CPA / CA , or an equivalent qualification; a CBV, CFA or other relevant designation is an asset
• Approximately 7+ years of relevant transaction, accounting, finance or advisory experience , including significant M&A, financial due diligence or Transaction Services experience
• Executive-level presence and communication skills, with the confidence and judgment to work effectively with Partners, management teams, private equity investors and other senior decision-makers
• The ability to balance strong technical expertise with equally strong interpersonal skills — adapting your communication style, influencing stakeholders and navigating complex or sensitive situations
• Strong project and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to lead multiple complex engagements simultaneously
• Demonstrated experience leading complex M&A engagements and coordinating multiple workstreams, priorities and stakeholders
• Strong technical knowledge of financial statements and transaction analysis, including quality of earnings, working capital, net debt, cash flow and other key deal considerations
• Strong commercial judgment and the ability to synthesize large volumes of financial and business information, identify what matters and communicate it clearly
• A proven ability to lead, coach and develop high-performing teams, including supporting Managers as they take greater ownership of engagements and client relationships
• A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively across service lines, geographies and areas of expertise
• Strong commercial curiosity — an instinct to understand why a business performs the way it does, not simply analyze the numbers
• An interest in innovation and new ways of working, including the practical application of data, analytics and AI-enabled tools to improve client outcomes and how we deliver our work
• Experience working with private equity investors, corporate development teams or in another transaction-focused role is an asset. Experience with financial modelling, Power BI or similar analytics tools is also desirable .

KPMG BC Region Pay Range Information  

The expected base salary range for this position is $114,500 to $205,500 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant’s base salary within this range is based on the individual’s location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications. In addition, KPMG offers a comprehensive and competitive Total Rewards program.
