KPMG’s Transaction Services team helps buyers, sellers, private equity investors and corporate clients make better-informed decisions through the M&A lifecycle.

Our Vancouver team works on transactions across a diverse range of industries, from private equity and founder-owned businesses to some of Canada’s best-known public and private companies. We combine rigorous financial analysis with commercial judgment to identify the issues that matter to our clients, helping them understand the risks and opportunities of a deal, and execute their M&A strategies with confidence.

We are looking for a Manager to join our growing Transaction Services team in Vancouver.

As a Manager in Transaction Services, you will work in multi-disciplinary teams, develop your professional, technical and leadership skills, and work on a wide variety of transactions across the transaction cycle.

This is an opportunity for an ambitious and motivated individual who enjoys understanding businesses, solving complex problems, and working directly with clients and senior decision-makers. You will take meaningful ownership of financial due diligence engagements while developing your skills as a client adviser, team leader, mentor and M&A professional.

As a Manager in Transaction Services, you will:

• Lead and coordinate financial due diligence engagements on buy-side and sell-side transactions, working closely with senior members of the team and the client
• Analyze the historical and forecast financial performance of businesses, including quality of earnings, revenue and margin trends, working capital, net debt, cash flow and other key value drivers
• Identify the financial and commercial issues that matter to a transaction and clearly communicate their potential impact to clients
• Develop and present clear, concise findings and recommendations that turn complex financial information into actionable insights
• Work directly with management teams, private equity investors, corporate executives and other transaction advisers throughout the diligence process
• Coordinate with specialists across KPMG, including Tax, Corporate Finance, Operations M&A, Technology, Valuations and other member firms
• Manage the day-to-day execution of engagements, including project planning, client communication, budgets and team responsibilities
• Coach and develop junior team members, providing clear direction and meaningful on-the-job learning opportunities
• Contribute to proposals, market initiatives and the continued growth of our Transaction Services practice.
• Help us continue to evolve how we deliver financial due diligence, including how we use data, analytics and AI-enabled tools to improve insight, quality and efficiency

You are likely to have:

• A professional accounting designation such as CPA / CA , or an equivalent qualification; progress toward a CBV or CFA designation is an asset
• Approximately 5+ years of relevant accounting, finance, transaction or advisory experience , ideally including at least 2 years of M&A, financial due diligence, or Transaction Services experience
• Experience analyzing businesses in an M&A context, including quality of earnings, working capital, net debt and cash flow
• Strong financial statement analysis and accounting knowledge
• The ability to synthesize large volumes of financial information, identify what matters and communicate it clearly
• Strong Excel skills and comfort working with data visualization, analytics and AI-enabled tools to support financial analysis and communicate insights
• Strong project-management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and confidence interacting with clients.
• A collaborative approach and a genuine interest in coaching and developing others
• Strong commercial curiosity and an instinct to understand why a business performs the way it does, not simply analyze the numbers
• Experience with financial modelling, Power BI or similar analytics tools is an asset

KPMG BC Region Pay Range Information  

The expected base salary range for this position is $88,000 to $131,500 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant’s base salary within this range is based on the individual’s location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications. In addition, KPMG offers a comprehensive and competitive Total Rewards program.
