Experienced Carpenter/Handyman (Commercial Construction)

We are looking for an experienced Carpenter / Handyman to join our growing team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in commercial construction, renovations, and building maintenance, with the ability to work independently and deliver exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform commercial carpentry, renovation, and repair work.
• Install doors, hardware, trim, cabinetry, millwork, and fixtures.
• Complete framing, drywall, finishing, and general carpentry tasks.
• Perform building maintenance and general handyman services.
• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate effectively with project managers, subcontractors, and site personnel.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and professional work environment.
• Ensure all work complies with applicable building codes and industry standards.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of carpentry or handyman experience.
• Proven commercial construction experience.
• Red Seal Carpenter certification preferred, or equivalent trade certification.
• Strong understanding of construction methods and building practices.
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
• Proficient with hand and power tools.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with commercial tenant improvements, renovations, and maintenance projects.
• Knowledge of provincial building codes and safety regulations.
• Experience working in occupied commercial spaces.
• Forklift, aerial lift, or other construction-related certifications.
