Accounting Assistant

This is more than an entry level accounting role. It is an opportunity to gain hands on experience across multiple areas of accounting, work alongside experienced professionals, and build a strong foundation for future growth within our organization.

Wage : $20.80 - $23.50 hourly

What You’ll Be Doing

As an Accounting Assistant , you will support the day-to-day accounting operations for our Head Office team through a variety of responsibilities, including:

• Processing vendor invoices and employee expense submissions
• Reconciling vendor statements and open credits
• Preparing cheques and EFTs for approval and submission
• Recording monthly journal entries using templates
• Completing VISA reconciliations
• Managing Telus and Eastlink billing processes
• Preparing cheque bank deposits
• Performing bank reconciliations
• Preparing monthly bank transfer files for management fees, rent, interest, CCC, and VISA payments
• Reconciling lot supplies accounts
• Preparing external invoices, including tenant invoicing
• Preparing and issuing internal invoices on both monthly and yearly schedules
• Supporting related party group reconciliations
• Assisting with special projects and training initiatives
• Providing support during audit processes

What We’re Looking For

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• A willingness to learn and grow within an accounting environment
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline driven environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Previous accounting, administration, or office experience is considered an asset, but not required
• Post secondary education in accounting, business, or finance is considered an asset
