Fullstack Developer Lead Vice President (Mississauga)

Overview

This senior level position is responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective is to lead application system analysis and programming activities.

Responsibilities

• Partner with multiple management teams to integrate functions to meet goals and identify necessary system enhancements for new products and process improvements.
• Resolve high-impact problems and projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business and system processes and industry standards.
• Provide expertise and advanced application programming knowledge, ensuring designs adhere to the overarching architecture blueprint.
• Develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation based on advanced system flow knowledge.
• Develop comprehensive understanding of how architecture, infrastructure, and business areas integrate to achieve business goals.
• Provide in-depth analysis and innovative solutions through interpretive thinking.
• Serve as advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessary.
• Assess risk in business decisions, safeguarding the firm’s reputation, client assets, and compliance with laws, rules, regulations, and corporate policy, while escalating control issues with transparency.
• Other job-related duties may be assigned as required.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of relevant experience in application development or systems analysis.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 3 years in a full-stack role.
• 5+ years of strong proficiency in Java, including Spring Boot and Spring Framework.
• Expert-level skills in ReactJS and core principles, with experience in workflows such as Flux or Redux and component libraries.
• Demonstrable experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL), advanced SQL, schema design, and performance tuning.
• Solid experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB), including data modeling and query optimization.
• Proven experience with CI/CD delivery management, using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in an agile development setting.
• Preferred skills:
  • Exposure to AI and ML concepts, frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch), or practical AI application in software solutions.
  • Experience with message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ) and microservices architecture.
  • Familiarity with testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito, Jest, React Testing Library).
  • Experience with GraphQL.

Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
