Senior Full Stack Developer (Java, React) - Vice President (Mississauga)

Overview

The Senior Full Stack Developer is a senior level position responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs as an individual contributor. The overall objective of this role is to build and code frameworks and services that are reusable for complex requirements.

Responsibilities

• Partner with multiple management teams to integrate functions, meet goals, and define necessary system enhancements for new products and process improvements.
• Resolve high‑impact problems and projects through in‑depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards.
• Provide expertise in application programming, ensuring application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint.
• Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow to develop coding, testing, debugging, and implementation standards.
• Develop comprehensive knowledge of how architecture and infrastructure integrate to accomplish business goals.
• Provide in‑depth analysis and interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions.
• Serve as an advisor or coach to mid‑level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessary.
• Assess risk when business decisions are made, safeguarding the firm’s reputation and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.

Required Qualifications

• Proficiency in programming with Java, API, and cloud engineering.
• Hands‑on experience building RESTful APIs using frameworks such as Spring.
• Experience with Oracle, SQL, and NoSQL (MongoDB).
• Experience with cloud platforms (OpenShift, Kubernetes), build tools (Gradle/Maven), and messaging systems (MQ, Kafka).
• Familiarity with clean code principles.
• Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
• Experience with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Grafana, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, rapidly changing environment.
• Strong systems analysis and programming skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes.

Recommended Qualifications

• Experience in the financial domain with a focus on payments.
• Understanding of GenAI, LLMs, and integrating mainframe applications with Kafka or API.
• 6+ years of relevant experience in application development or systems analysis.
• Extensive experience in systems analysis and software programming.
• Proven record of managing and implementing successful projects.
• Subject‑Matter Expert (SME) in at least one area of applications development.
• Flexibility to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate.
• Demonstrated leadership and project management skills.
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication.

Education

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) required; Master’s degree preferred.
