POSITION OVERVIEW <\/span>
<\/p>

Under the direction of the Program Supervisor of the Blood Tribe Safe Home and Assessment Centre; the Child Care Worker will work in a team environment and will provide a safe short\-term nurturing environment for children in care. <\/span>

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES <\/span>
<\/p>

• Maintain a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment that supports the emotional well\-being of children in care. <\/span>
  <\/p><\/li>
  
  

• Provide direct supervision of children and ensure their safety at all times. <\/span>
  <\/p><\/li>
  
  

• Develop, implement, and participate in structured and unstructured daily activities and programming. <\/span>
  <\/p><\/li>
  
  

• Liaise effectively with involved professionals and significant family members. <\/span>
  <\/p><\/li>
  
  

• Maintain the Safe Home environment, including cleaning, meal preparation, and laundry for clients. <\/span>
  <\/p><\/li>
  
  

• Complete accurate and timely documentation, including daily logs and intake reports. <\/span>
  <\/p><\/li>
  
  

• Adhere to organizational policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements. <\/span>
  <\/p><\/li>
  
  

• Maintain cooperative working relationships with team members. <\/span>
  <\/p><\/li>
  
  

• Manage crisis situations using effective problem\-solving and de\-escalation techniques. <\/span>
  <\/p><\/li>

  QUALIFICATIONS <\/span>
  <\/p>
  
  

  
  

  • Post\-secondary degree or diploma in Child and Youth Care or a related field. <\/span>
    <\/p><\/li>
    
    

  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle. <\/span>
    <\/p><\/li>
    
    

  • Successful completion of CYIM\/ISIS check and Criminal Record Check. <\/span>
    <\/p><\/li>

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills. <\/span>

    • Knowledge of Blackfoot language and culture is considered an asset. <\/span>

    • Ability to manage crisis situations using calm and effective de\-escalation techniques. <\/span>
      <\/p><\/li>
      
      

    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships with children and families. <\/span>

    • Demonstrated commitment to maintaining confidentiality and protecting sensitive information. <\/span>
