The Department of Occupational Therapy invites applications for a full-time tenured or probationary (tenure-track) position at the Assistant, Associate or Professor rank, commencing February 1, 2027, or on a date mutually agreed upon. Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

The Department seeks an emerging Indigenous scholar with a commitment to excellence in teaching and research. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, research, service, and community engagement activities within the Department, Faculty and University.

Exceptional candidates at any rank will be considered with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below:

Requirements:

• Completed or near completion of, a research-based doctoral program (PhD), including a dissertation. If the PhD has not been completed by the appointment date, the person may be appointed to a term position at the rank of Lecturer until satisfactory completion of their PhD.
• Knowledge and/or experience with Indigenous methodologies and/or decolonizing scholarship.
• Lived experience, Indigenous knowledge, and evidence of sustained leadership and relationship-building within Indigenous communities.
• Experience in advocacy and community engagement.
• An established or emerging program of research related to Indigenous health and/or well-being, or demonstrates clear potential to develop one, with potential to contribute to interprofessional and community-based research initiatives.
• Commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and decolonizing education within academic and community contexts.

Preferred:

• Connected to local Manitoba communities and languages.
• Experience coordinating and teaching courses in post-secondary occupational therapy educational programs.
• Experience contributing to research-oriented post-secondary education.
• Experience contributing to development or re-development of curricula in post-secondary rehabilitation education.

The Department currently has eight full time tenured and tenure track faculty members and seven full-time Instructors and offers a full range of graduate programs in Occupational Therapy.
