Health and Safety Coordinator

Our client, a leading organization in the industry, is seeking a dedicated and proactive Health and Safety Coordinator to join their team. As a Health and Safety Coordinator, you will be an integral part of the Health, Safety & Wellness department, supporting a dynamic team committed to fostering a safe and healthy work environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for workplace wellness and safety, which will enable you to thrive within our organization.
Job Title: Health and Safety Coordinator
Location: Lunenburg, NS
What's the Job?
- Partner closely with the Health, Safety & Wellness Advisor to develop and maintain a comprehensive health & safety program.
- Assist with facilitating new hire health & safety orientation and onboarding programs for new staff and leaders.
- Support planning and execution of health and safety-related employee events.
- Maintain and update employee health & safety records accurately and efficiently.
- Develop and communicate safe work practices tailored to multiple unique working areas.
What's Needed?
- Currently enrolled in or completed a post-secondary program in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- A positive, proactive attitude and eagerness to learn and grow in the field of workplace safety.
