EMPLOYMENT COUNSELLOR - 18-month Contract
Founded in 1995, YES Employment + Entrepreneurship is a non-profit community-based organization dedicated to enriching the community by providing English-language support services to help Quebecers find employment and start and grow businesses.

Join YES Employment + Entrepreneurship as an Employment Counsellor and help job seekers build the skills and confidence they need to thrive in the future of work.
We are seeking a dynamic, digitally fluent Employment Counsellor to provide one-on-one and group support to job seekers across diverse career stages. This role involves career counselling, digital job search training, providing labour market insights, and aiding the development of e-learning courses.
You’ll help clients navigate the modern job market, prepare for AI-enhanced hiring practices (e.g. ATS, virtual interviews), and understand the digital skills employers now expect — all while delivering compassionate, client-centered support.
Position Responsibilities
Client Support & Career Counselling
- Provide personalized one-on-one employment counselling focused on career transitions, job readiness,
- and goal setting in today’s digital economy.
- Assist clients with:
- Navigating AI-driven hiring systems (e.g., ATS optimization)
- Online job search strategies and networking (, online platforms)
- Interview preparation (in-person and virtual)
- CV, portfolio, and digital profile development
- Help clients identify transferable skills, reskilling/upskilling needs, and career pathways in growth sectors.
Program Delivery & Workshop Facilitation
- Develop and deliver interactive workshops on modern job search techniques, personal branding,
- AI-readiness, and adapting to remote/hybrid work trends.
- Create and update workshop materials and facilitation guides with a focus on digital literacy and evolving hiring trends.
- Collaborate with the E-learning Developer to co-create on-demand, future-focused e-learning content
- for job seekers.
Community Engagement & Outreach
- Participate in outreach activities such as school visits, employment fairs, and regional events.
- Coordinate networking and employer engagement initiatives to support client placements and mentorship.
- Build relationships with organizations, educational institutions, and employers to connect clients with real opportunities.
Mentorship Coordination
- Support mentorship activities in collaboration with the Mentorship Coordinator, helping clients build meaningful professional relationships.
Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Relations, Career Development, Social Sciences, Human Resource Development (HRD), or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in employment counselling, job readiness programming, or career development.
- Understanding of AI trends, digital recruitment tools, and future-of-work concepts (e.g., remote work, gig economy, automation).
- Strong English writing, facilitation, and digital presentation skills.
- Ability to assess client needs and adapt strategies for diverse client groups (youth, newcomers, mid-career changers, etc.).
- Comfortable using MS Office, CRM systems, Video Conferencing, Outlook, and digital collaboration tools.
- Highly organized, autonomous, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to occasionally work evening workshops and travel to regional events.
- Bilingualism is an asset.
- As an organization that provides services in English this position requires excellent English writing and communication skills.

Nous sommes à la recherche de Conseillers(ères) en emploi dynamique et à l’aise avec le numérique, qui offrira un soutien individuel et de groupe à des chercheurs d’emploi à différents stades de leur carrière. Ce rôle comprend le counseling de carrière, la formation à la recherche d’emploi numérique, la transmission d’informations sur le marché du travail et la contribution au développement de cours en ligne.
Vous aiderez les clients à naviguer dans le marché du travail moderne, à se préparer aux pratiques d’embauche rehaussées par l’IA (ex. : systèmes de suivi des candidatures [ATS], entrevues virtuelles) et à comprendre les compétences numériques que les employeurs recherchent désormais — tout en offrant un accompagnement bienveillant, centré sur les besoins des clients.
Responsabilités principales
Soutien aux clients et counseling de carrière
- Offrir des services de counseling individualisé axés sur les transitions de carrière, la préparation à l’emploi et la fixation d’objectifs dans l’économie numérique actuelle.
- Aider les clients à :
- Naviguer dans les systèmes de recrutement basés sur l’IA (ex. : optimisation pour ATS)
- Développer des stratégies de recherche d’emploi et de réseautage en ligne (, plateformes numériques)
- Se préparer aux entrevues (en personne et virtuelles)
- Concevoir leur CV, portfolio et profils numériques
- Aider les clients à identifier leurs compétences transférables, leurs besoins de requalification/ perfectionnement, ainsi que les parcours de carrière dans les secteurs en croissance.
Prestation de programmes et animation d’ateliers
- Concevoir et animer des ateliers interactifs sur les techniques modernes de recherche d’emploi, l’image de marque personnelle, la préparation à l’IA et l’adaptation aux tendances de travail à distance/hybride.
- Créer et mettre à jour le matériel de formation et les guides d’animation en mettant l’accent sur les compétences numériques et l’évolution des pratiques d’embauche.
- Collaborer avec le développeur e-learning pour cocréer du contenu en ligne, à la demande, axé sur l’avenir du travail.
Mobilisation communautaire et rayonnement
- Participer à des activités de rayonnement telles que des visites scolaires, des foires de l’emploi et des événements régionaux.
- Coordonner des initiatives de réseautage et de mobilisation des employeurs afin de favoriser le placement et le mentorat des clients.
- Développer des partenariats avec des organismes, des établissements d’enseignement et des employeurs afin de connecter les clients à de réelles opportunités.
- Appuyer les activités de mentorat en collaboration avec le coordonnateur du programme, afin d’aider les clients à bâtir des relations professionnelles significatives.
Connaissances, compétences et qualifications
- Baccalauréat en relations humaines, développement de carrière, travail social, développement des ressources humaines (DRH) ou dans un domaine connexe.
- Minimum de 3 ans d’expérience en counseling en emploi, en programmes de préparation à l’emploi ou en développement de carrière.
- Bonne compréhension des tendances liées à l’IA, des outils numériques de recrutement et des concepts liés à l’avenir du travail (ex. : télétravail, économie de petits boulots, automatisation).
- Excellentes aptitudes en rédaction, animation et présentation numérique en anglais.
- Capacité à évaluer les besoins des clients et à adapter les stratégies pour divers groupes (jeunes, nouveaux arrivants, personnes en réorientation de carrière, etc.).
- À l’aise avec MS Office, les systèmes CRM, les plateformes de vidéoconférence, Outlook et les outils de collaboration numérique.
- Grande capacité d’organisation, autonomie et aptitude à gérer plusieurs priorités dans un environnement dynamique.
- Disponibilité occasionnelle en soirée pour l’animation d’ateliers et pour des déplacements régionaux.
- Le bilinguisme constitue un atout.
- En tant qu'organisation qui offre des services en anglais, ce poste exige d'excellentes compétences en rédaction et en communication dans cette langue.
